2013 - 27th Lavadeira Festival.
Held since 1987, is the largest celebration of popular culture in Brazil, representing the Northeast of Brazil, the State of Pernambuco and the city of Recife. Awarded nationally recognized by the UN, title of Immaterial Patrimony of Pernambuco, Pernambuco People's Patrimony and part of the Tourist Calendar of Pernambuco.
The Lavadeira Festival is tradition and history. Come join this great meeting that always happen on May 1st, from 10am to 22pm, now in the Bairro de São José, Recife.
Generating income, supporting the craft, encouraging and valuing the culture, creating new audiences. Presents to 80,000 people a great show of love, happiness and cultural identity.
